Tendinopathy does not generally settle without assessment and intervention.
Initially, it is important to diagnose the problem and establish its severity.
An Ultrasound may be required to review the tenon structure at this time.
Your Podiatrist will then assess your activity levels, exercise routine and training loads to determine how the tendon is being overloaded.
Once this is complete, we will determine an appropriate treatment plan and timeframe for improvement.
Your treatment plan will include reduced loading of the tendon in the initial phase, exercises to build strength and capacity in the tendon and strategies to manage your pain including Shockwave therapy, soft tissue massage, and dry needling.
Foot orthoses may be required to manage the biomechanical issues contributing to your tendon pain.
