Do you need help with cutting your toenails?
For many people, cutting their own toenails is a difficult and possibly even dangerous task.
If you are living with certain complex medical conditions, experience stiffness or pain in your back or even if you are pregnant, we know how difficult the care of your nails can be.
Many people choose to attend their local beautician to get some help with their nails.
Having trouble cutting your nail? - Go to a Podiatrist not a beauty salon
However, with the recent changes mandated by the Government to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus, you may now find they need to find help to manage their nails.
We are seeing many clients now who need help with their nails now that their beautician has closed.
Podiatry is an essential service
Presently, the Australian government has released very strict guidelines on what businesses and services can operate during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The reason the government is doing this is two-fold:
- to slow the spread fo the Coronavirus and reduce the impact on the health services and
- to make sure the businesses that are remaining open, have very strict systems and processes surrounding infection control.
The Government has defined Podiatry clinics as essential services during the Coronaviru pandemic.
Podiatrist Clinic follow strict guidelines on infection control
This means that, that as health care professionals, we can remain open during this time of mandated social isolation to continue to provide people with essential health care services.
This includes helping people manage their toenail care.
Cutting toenails the right way
The Podiatrists at Complete Podiatry have all spent 4 years at University studying the feet and lower limb, which yes, includes toenails.
We are trained to assess, diagnose and manage conditions of the skin and nails in a hygienic and safe way to make sure our clients can keep doing the things they love without having to worry about their feet.
If you have ever suffered from an ingrowing toenail, you'll know how painful and debilitating this condition can be.
Yet with the right help to manage problems like these, you don't have to live with pain.
Our Podiatrists can help with all types of nail concerns including:
- regular general nail care
- hard, thickened toenails
- discoloured nails
- fungal toenails
- difficult to reach nails
Sterilisation of all instruments
When you see a Podiatrist for your nail care, you can be assured that all of the instruments we use are maintained and sterilized between every client.
Every time we use a set of instruments we use a rigorous processing system to ensure they are free from the viruses, bacteria and fungus that can cause infection.
- All instruments are scrubbed under running water
- Instruments are placed in an ultrasonic cleaner to remove any remaining debris
- Instruments are dried and repackaged in specialist single-use steriliser bags
- The instruments are then run through our sterilizer at a high temperature and pressure to kill the viruses, bacteria and fungus that can cause infection
- Instruments are left to dry and cool before being used on clients.
Our on-site sterilizer is tested every year to ensure our sterilisation process produces virus and bacteria free nail care instruments for us to use with our clients.

Foot health check-up
When you see one of our Podiatrists for nail care we do much more than neatening up your nails.
At our first consultation together, you will receive a comprehensive foot health assessment to check your foot health and identify any potential areas of risk your feet may have.
Following this, you will receive a management plan to give you absolute clarity about the things that need to be done to help maintain the best health of your feet and let you build an amazing life from your feet up.
We recommend everyone has a foot health check with a Podiatrist like this every year, just like a dental check-up, to ensure you can live your best life without foot problems.
